When we gather for worship on Sunday we will have already been thinking and pouring out over the word, ready to learn and grow in our central teaching on Sunday. Our intent for this is to help get our church into the word daily, to help us focus our ministry as a whole, and to seek a unified story of God through a single gospel story.

Family to Family

Many of us life with a loved one suffering from mental illness/brain disorders.
Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, among other disorders are often hidden from the public, our neighbors, and sometimes even from our family member. Yet they can be exhausting and consuming disorders to live with. NAMI MidCarolina (National Alliance for Mental Illness) will again start up a 12 week course of education and support for spouses, adult children, adult siblings, of those with mental illness. It is completely free to participants, and will meet right here at Pilgrim Lutheran Church on Tuesday evenings, beginning February 28th at 6:30pm.

Pilgrim will offer 4 worship services on Christmas Eve.
3:00pm – Children’s Worship with Puppets and a Family Blessing
5:00pm – Contemporary Worship with Candlelight and Holy Communion
7:00 & 11:00pm – Traditional Candlelight Worship with Holy Communion
Come for one, or come for all – and be sure to invite your friends and neighbors!

Pastor’s Pounding

Everyone is invited to join in “pounding” Pastor Jay and his family at the cover-dish luncheon following his Installation service on Sunday, Dec. 11th. (no, not with a hammer, but in stocking their pantry with a pound of this, and a pound of that) Pastor Jay has made a very special request, knowing how much in need the Lexington Interfaith Community Services ( LICS ) pantry is, he has asked that we do a double pounding that day. So, if you bring a can of beans for the Pastor’s family, please bring a can of beans for LICS’ pantry. There will be a designated place in the Fellowship Hall for your items. Thanks for much for showing your Southern Hospitality !

Installation of Pastor Jay

Yoos III, Bishop of the SC Synod, on Sunday, December 11, 2011. We will worship together at ONE service that day at 11am and follow with a covered-dish luncheon!

Pilgrim’s Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (WELCA) would like to invite any and all ladies to attend our annual WELCA Christmas Social on Sunday, November 27th at 3pm in the Fellowship Hall. Advent Worship

Our theme for Advent is “Waiting….”. Join us for Wednesday evening Advent worship, beginning on November 30th. Services will be held at 6:33pm in the sanctuary (Nov 30, Dec 7 and 14). God’s Kids will meet in the chapel for special programming and crafts for children during the services.
